Spain's Digital Nomad Visa in 2026

Two years after its launch, Spain's Digital Nomad Visa has become one of Europe's most sought-after remote work permits.

What's New for 2026

The Spanish government has streamlined the application process:

  • Online applications are now accepted through the UGE portal
  • Processing times have dropped from 3 months to 6-8 weeks
  • Income threshold remains at approximately €2,300/month

Tax Benefits

One of the visa's biggest draws is the Beckham Law tax regime:

  • Flat 24% tax rate on Spanish-source income
  • Foreign income remains largely tax-free
  • Available for the first 6 years of residence

Path to Permanent Residency

The Digital Nomad Visa counts toward Spanish permanent residency. After 5 years of continuous residence, visa holders can apply for long-term residency or citizenship.
