Overview

The CARICOM Skilled Nationals Certificate is a vital component of the CARICOM Single Market and Economy (CSME), designed to facilitate the free movement of labor across participating Caribbean nations. It allows qualified professionals and skilled workers to live and work in another CARICOM member state without the need for a traditional work permit. This initiative aims to integrate the regional labor market, allowing employers to hire skilled talent from across the community and providing workers with greater opportunities for professional growth and regional mobility.

qualification is restricted to specific categories of workers, including university graduates, artists, musicians, media workers, and technical/vocational professionals. The certificate is valid indefinitely and grants the holder the right to seek employment, engage in self-employment, and move with their spouse and dependents. By standardizing the recognition of skills and qualifications across borders, the program reduces bureaucratic hurdles and fosters a more cohesive and competitive regional economy, ensuring that skilled nationals can contribute their expertise wherever it is most needed within the CARICOM community.
