IM-1 — Single-Entry Immigrant Visa

The IM-1 is a single-entry immigrant visa counterfoil issued to approved permanent residence applicants from visa-required countries. Affixed to the passport alongside a Confirmation of Permanent Residence (COPR), it allows travel to Canada to complete landing as a permanent resident.

Valid for one entry only, the IM-1 is voided upon landing; its expiry is tied to the medical exam date. Total fees are CAD 1,675 (CAD 990 processing fee, CAD 600 RPRF, CAD 85 biometrics). Each dependent receives their own IM-1. Holders must land before the document expires.
