Overview

The Recognition Partnership is a German visa under §16d(3) AufenthG that lets non-EU skilled workers enter and work while their foreign qualification is formally assessed. It requires a job offer, a signed employer partnership agreement, a home-country vocational or academic credential, and A2 German.

Initial stay is one year, renewable by one year at a time to a maximum of three years. A fast-track employer procedure is available for €411. Successful recognition leads to a skilled worker residence permit or EU Blue Card — a clear path to permanent residence. Spouses can work immediately on arrival.

This visa is ideal for non-EU skilled workers with a German job offer who want to work immediately while completing formal recognition of their foreign qualification.
