§25(1-3) — Residence Permit for Humanitarian, Political, or International Law Reasons

Germany's §25 AufenthG residence permit covers persons recognised as refugees or asylum-entitled (§25(1)/(2)), and those with a legal ban on deportation (§25(3)). Issued by the Ausländerbehörde after a positive BAMF decision, it provides stable legal status and access to the labour market.

Initial validity is 3 years for recognised refugees and up to 1 year for deportation-ban holders; the permit is renewable. Holders may work without restriction and sponsor family reunification. A settlement permit is available after 5 years. The permit is fee-exempt for refugees; subsidiary protection holders pay €100.

This visa is ideal for persons who have received a positive BAMF asylum ruling or a national deportation ban and need a stable, renewable residence status in Germany.
