dk-asylum — Asylum (Refugee Status)

Denmark's asylum program protects individuals facing persecution or serious harm in their home country. Applicants must be physically present and meet criteria for Convention, Protected, or Temporary Protected Status. The process involves registration, biometrics, interviews, and assessment by Danish immigration authorities.

Asylum grants 1–2 years residence (renewable). Processing takes approximately 8 months. Work is permitted under strict conditions while awaiting decision; full authorization once granted. Dependents (spouse and children under 18) may join after status is granted. The permanent residence application fee is DKK 4,970.
