Transit Visa (Visa de Transit)

The Algerian Transit Visa is intended for foreign nationals who need to pass through Algerian territory while en route to a final destination in another country. This visa is specifically for travelers who must clear immigration or exit the international transit zone of an Algerian airport, such as when changing terminals, collecting luggage, or staying in the country for a short duration before continuing their journey. It is a temporary authorization that strictly limits the holder's activities, prohibiting any form of employment or extended stay within Algeria while the visa is valid.

Applicants for a transit visa must demonstrate their intent to continue to a third country by providing a confirmed airline itinerary and, if applicable, a valid entry visa for their final destination. The visa is typically issued for a maximum stay of seven days. In addition to travel documentation, applicants must provide proof of sufficient financial resources to cover their short stay and a valid passport with at least six months of remaining validity. Travelers should verify if their specific transit circumstances require a visa, as those remaining strictly within the international airport zone for less than 24 hours may sometimes be exempt depending on their nationality.
