Overview

Long-stay D visa for remote workers earning at least €3,960/month, allowing up to 365 days of residence in Estonia.

Estonia's Digital Nomad Visa is a long-stay (D-category) visa from the Police and Border Guard Board for location-independent workers who serve foreign clients or employers. Applicants must show gross income of at least €3,960/month over the prior six months and provide an employment contract plus tax and registration proof for the foreign company.

Valid up to 365 days within a 12-month period and consecutive D-visas are capped at 548 days over 730 days. The state fee is €120 and a decision is typically issued within 30 calendar days. Applications are filed in person at an Estonian representation abroad or a PBGB service office, after the online pre-application and biometrics.

This visa is ideal for remote employees and freelancers earning comfortably above €3,960/month from foreign clients who want a year of legal Estonian residence and Schengen access without changing jobs.
