B.6 — Golden Visa - Startup Investment (Χρυσή Βίζα Νεοφυούς Επιχείρησης - B.6)

The Golden Visa for Startup Investment (Type B.6) is a modern addition to the Greek residency framework, introduced via Article 100A of the Immigration Code (Law 5038/2023). It was created to bridge the gap between international venture capital and Greece’s growing innovation ecosystem. By requiring a minimum investment of €250,000 in a startup registered with 'Elevate Greece,' the program aims to foster entrepreneurship and job creation, offering investors a five-year, renewable residence permit in exchange for their contribution to the country's technological and economic development.

This permit is ideal for angel investors, venture capitalists, or entrepreneurs who want to support and gain exposure to the Greek startup scene. To qualify, the investment must be made through a capital increase or bond loan in an Elevate Greece-registered entity. A key distinctive feature is the mandatory job-creation requirement: the startup must create at least two new jobs within the first year and maintain them for five years. The permit is highly specific, requiring strict adherence to investment holding periods and corporate participation limits (maximum 33% equity), reflecting its focus on sustainable, long-term business growth.
