Overview

Residence permit for managers and specialists transferred within multinational companies to a Greek entity under EU Directive 2014/66, valid up to 3 years.

The Intra-Corporate Transfer (ICT) residence permit (E.2) for managers and specialists is a long-standing framework in Greece, aligned with EU Directive 2014/66/EU and incorporated into the Greek Immigration Code (Law 5038/2023). It was created to facilitate the mobility of key personnel within multinational corporate groups. By providing a clear legal pathway for the temporary secondment of high-level staff, this permit fills the gap for companies needing to leverage their global talent pool to manage Greek operations, ensuring that specialized knowledge and managerial oversight can be seamlessly transferred across international borders.

This permit is for managers and specialists who are already employed by a company or group of companies established outside the EU and are being transferred to a branch or subsidiary in Greece. Applicants must possess a higher education degree or equivalent professional qualifications and must have been employed by the same corporate group for at least 12 consecutive months prior to the transfer. It is distinctive because it is designed for senior roles that involve directing the host entity or providing essential specialized knowledge. Unlike other permits, it specifically recognizes the internal structure of multinational corporations and allows for a stay of up to three years, with the possibility of transitioning to an EU Blue Card.
