Transit Visa (تأشيرة عبور)

The Transit Visa (تأشيرة عبور) is a specialized entry authorization managed by the Lebanese General Directorate of General Security. It is designed to facilitate the legal movement of international travelers who are passing through Lebanon to reach a third destination. This visa fills a critical gap for passengers whose travel itineraries require them to exit the international transit area of Rafic Hariri International Airport or cross land borders, ensuring that such movement is documented and regulated in accordance with national security protocols.

This visa is intended for travelers with confirmed onward or return travel arrangements. It is ideal for individuals facing tight flight connections or those who must leave the airport to switch terminals or transport providers. Applicants must present a valid passport and proof of their onward journey. It is a distinctive short-term solution, offering a fee-free option for stays up to 48 hours, while a nominal fee applies for stays extending up to 15 days, provided the traveler does not intend to remain in the country for tourism or work.
