Overview

Long-stay national visa for foreign company founders and investors managing a newly established Lithuanian business, valid for up to 12 months.

National Visa D for Business Investors is a long-stay visa issued under Lithuania's Law on the Legal Status of Aliens to foreign entrepreneurs who have founded or invested in a Lithuanian company. It authorises stay for up to 12 months so the founder can be on the ground while preparing a follow-on temporary residence permit.

Applications are lodged through MIGRIS and biometrics submitted at a VFS Global centre; consulates no longer accept national D applications. The state fee is EUR 120 plus a VFS service fee of EUR 17.90 or EUR 33.80. Admissible applications are decided within 15 calendar days. Schengen-valid health insurance with EUR 30,000 minimum cover is required.

This visa is ideal for foreign founders and shareholders of a Lithuanian company who need lawful long-stay status while activating operations and preparing a TRP application.
