Overview

Short-term visa for tourists and visitors entering the Marshall Islands, valid up to 3 months with two possible extensions.

The Visitor's Visa (V-1) is the standard entry authorization for foreign nationals intending to visit the Republic of the Marshall Islands for tourism, leisure, or short-term social visits. It is designed for individuals who do not qualify for visa-free entry or visa-on-arrival status. Applicants must demonstrate that they have the financial means to support themselves during their stay and possess valid travel arrangements to leave the country, ensuring they do not intend to settle permanently or seek unauthorized employment while in the islands.

This visa is intended for tourists and short-term visitors who are not citizens of visa-exempt nations. The process requires careful preparation, including obtaining medical and police clearances, which must be recent. While some nationalities may be qualifying for visa-on-arrival, those who are not must secure their V-1 visa prior to travel. The visa is typically valid for an initial period of 30 days, with the possibility of applying for an extension through the Director of the Immigration Division.
