Must be a foreign national with no family relationship with a Malaysian citizen (Warga Asing Sepenuhnya / WAS category)
Must hold an Employment Pass, Student Pass, Professional Visit Pass, or Residence Pass for 5 continuous years; pass must not be interrupted for more than 6 months
Application is restricted to Investors, Experts, and Professionals in fields recognised and certified by a Regulatory Agency in Malaysia (see critical occupation list, Appendix B1/B2 of the official guidebook)
Must not be on the Immigration Watch List or Blacklist (Section 8(3) of the Immigration Act 1959/63)
Must have a Malaysian citizen sponsor (penaja) who attends the application in person
Must pass a Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) security screening
Valid passport with at least 12 months remaining validity at time of application

Application Process

Submit the application at the nearest Immigration Office to your place of residence
Undergo an interview (sesi temu duga) for assessment and verification
Undergo Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) security screening
Receive Acknowledgement of Receipt (Akuan Penerimaan/AP) once documents are complete and mandatory requirements are met
Check application status after 6 months via https://imigresen-online.imi.gov.my/eservices/myPermit?semakStatusPermit
Upon approval, applicant and sponsor attend Immigration HQ (Bahagian Visa, Pas dan Permit) within 30 days to pay the RM120 fee and collect the Permit Masuk
Obtain Entry Permit Notification Stamp (Notis Pemberitahuan) in passport at nearest Immigration Office
