The Norwegian Family Immigration visa for fiancés provides a pathway for foreign nationals to marry a Norwegian citizen or permanent resident. Issued by the Directorate of Immigration (UDI), this permit requires both partners to be at least 24 years old, to have met in person, and to marry within six months of arrival. The sponsoring partner must meet strict financial requirements.
The permit lasts a maximum of six months and is not renewable; applicants must marry and transition to a spouse residence permit before expiry. The application fee is NOK 11,900. Work is permitted during the stay. Dependents are not permitted on this visa.
This visa is ideal for a foreign national in a genuine relationship with a Norwegian or permanent-resident partner who wishes to relocate to Norway and formalize their marriage within a defined timeframe.
