The sponsoring partner must meet strict financial requirements.

The permit lasts a maximum of six months and is not renewable; applicants must marry and transition to a spouse residence permit before expiry. The application fee is NOK 11,900. Work is permitted during the stay. Dependents are not permitted on this visa.

This visa is ideal for a foreign national in a genuine relationship with a Norwegian or permanent-resident partner who wishes to relocate to Norway and formalize their marriage within a defined timeframe.
