Investor Visa (Inversionista)

The Investor Visa (Inversionista) was established under Peru’s Immigration Law, Legislative Decree N° 1350, which came into force in March 2017. This visa was designed to modernize the country's immigration framework and fill the gap for attracting significant foreign capital into the Peruvian economy. It provides a structured pathway for foreign nationals who wish to establish, develop, or manage legal investments within the country, offering a clear regulatory environment for those contributing to national economic growth through substantial financial commitments.

This visa is intended for entrepreneurs, business professionals, and investors prepared to make a minimum investment of PEN 500,000 in a new or existing Peruvian company. It is distinctive because it requires a one-way bank transfer and often necessitates a certified business plan demonstrating economic impact. Furthermore, the visa holder must commit to hiring at least five local Peruvian employees within the first year. While it grants residency, it primarily allows the applicant to work as a manager or director of their own company, emphasizing active business management.
