The Official Visa (Oficial) is a specialized entry authorization managed by the Peruvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, designed to support the presence of foreign officials who do not hold diplomatic rank but are performing essential functions for recognized international organizations. It fills the gap by providing a clear legal framework for administrative, technical, and official personnel who are not diplomats but require official status to conduct their work within Peruvian territory. This visa upholds the international commitments Peru has made to global bodies and organizations operating within its borders.

This visa is for foreign officials, technical staff, and representatives of international organizations recognized by the Peruvian government. The ideal applicant is someone on an official mission, holding a valid official passport and backed by a Note Verbale from their respective organization. It is distinct from a diplomatic visa as it focuses on the functional necessity of the official's presence rather than diplomatic representation.
