Thailand's 10-year LTR Work-from-Thailand Professional visa for remote workers earning USD 80K+/yr employed by a qualifying overseas company.
Thailand's LTR Work-from-Thailand Professional visa, launched September 2022 by the Board of Investment, grants remote workers a 10-year residency pathway (5+5) tied to a qualifying overseas employer. The 2025 update lowered the employer-revenue threshold from USD 150M to USD 50M, added wholly-owned subsidiaries, and removed the prior 5-year work-experience rule.
Applicants need USD 80,000/yr income for the past two years (or USD 40,000 with a Master's, IP ownership, or USD 1M Series A), plus USD 50,000 health insurance, Thai SSO cover, or a USD 100,000 12-month deposit. The visa fee is 50,000 THB and endorsement takes 20 working days. No Thai work permit is issued under WFTP since work is performed remotely for the foreign employer.
This visa is ideal for senior remote employees of large overseas firms who want long-term Thai residency without local employment, with broader dependent rights including parents and legal dependents.
