IranFree Trade Zone (FTZ) Entry Permit
This permit allows foreign nationals to enter designated Free Trade Zones (e.g., Kish, Qeshm, Chabahar) without a standard visa for short-term visits.
IranH-Visa — Press (Media) Visa
For foreign journalists, reporters, photographers, film directors, producers, and radio/TV personnel traveling to Iran for professional media work. Applications must be submitted to the Press Section of the Iranian embassy in the applicant's country of residence.
IranResidence Permit (5-Year)
Long-term residence permit for foreign nationals investing minimum $90,000 in Iran or maintaining long-term currency deposits. Allows 5-year stay with renewal option and potential pathway to citizenship after 5 years.
IranType A — Entry (Business) Visa
For foreign nationals traveling to Iran for business, commercial, economic, cultural, or industrial purposes, including conference attendance, contract negotiations, or equipment installation. Requires invitation from an Iranian ministry, organization, or registered company.
IranType B — Tourist Visa
For foreign nationals visiting Iran for sightseeing, leisure, or visiting friends and family. Valid for up to 30 days with the possibility of two 30-day extensions. Available as sticker visa through embassy, e-visa, or visa on arrival at major airports for qualifying nationalities.
IranType C — Pilgrimage (Ziyarat) Visa
For foreign nationals, primarily Muslims, wishing to visit Iran's sacred Shia shrines such as the Imam Reza Shrine in Mashhad and Fatima Masumeh Shrine in Qom. Applicants must demonstrate pilgrimage intent; non-Muslims may also apply.
IranType D — Diplomatic Visa
For holders of diplomatic passports posted to Iran on official government or consular missions, and their accompanying family members. Issued through diplomatic channels between ministries of foreign affairs.
IranType E — Education Visa
For foreign nationals admitted to Iranian universities, seminaries, or accredited academic institutions for higher education or religious studies. Requires qualification certificate from the Iranian Ministry of Science, Ministry of Education, or an accredited institution.
IranType F — Work (Employment) Visa
For foreign nationals employed by or seconded to an Iranian company or organization. Requires a valid work permit issued by the Iranian Ministry of Labour, sponsored by the employing entity. Granted for the duration of the employment contract, typically one year, renewable.
IranType G — Transit Visa
For foreign nationals passing through Iran en route to a third country, including road travelers, airline crew, and connecting flight passengers. Valid for up to 7 days and cannot be extended. Applicant must hold a valid visa for the destination country.
IranType H — Media (Press) Visa
Sole legal entry category for foreign journalists, broadcasters, and film crews conducting professional media work in Iran, valid for 10 days and extendable.
IranType I — Investment Visa
For foreign entrepreneurs and investors intending to establish or invest in businesses in Iran. Requires a business plan approved by the Organization for Investment Economic and Technical Assistance of Iran (OIETAI). Typically valid one year, extendable.
IranType M — Family Visa (Marital Visa)
Visa for foreign spouses of Iranian women and their children to visit and stay with family. For foreign men married to Iranian women according to Iranian law. Allows family visitation and bonding.
IranType R — Relatives Visa
Family reunification and visitation permit for foreign nationals with close relatives in Iran, requiring a host-completed hosting form and valid for up to 90 days.
IranType S — Service Visa
For holders of official/service passports working in an official or consular capacity, or employed by international organizations such as the United Nations operating in Iran. Distinct from the full diplomatic visa but similarly administered through official channels.
IranType T — Medical (Treatment) Visa
For foreign nationals traveling to Iran to receive medical treatment. Requires an approval letter or acceptance documentation from a Ministry of Health-authorized Iranian medical center or hospital.
IranVOA — Visa on Arrival (VOA)
The Visa on Arrival is a short-term tourist visa issued at designated international airports in Iran.
