Student Guardian Visa.
The Student Guardian visa (subclass 590) lets a parent, legal guardian, or relative aged 21 or older live in Australia to provide accommodation, welfare, and support for a child on a student visa (subclass 500). The guardian must be nominated in writing by the student's parent or legal guardian.
The visa is granted for the course duration, up to 5 years, and is renewable. Holders have no work rights (condition 8535 applies) and cannot bring children under 6 without exceptional approval. Health insurance and funds to support both guardian and student are required throughout the stay.
This visa is ideal for parents or relatives of minors studying in Australia who want to live alongside the student and provide direct care for the full duration of the course.
