The visa is valid for up to three years or the mission duration and is renewable. Issued at no cost based on a formal diplomatic note from the sending government or organization, it allows dependents to accompany if named in the note. Spouses have no work authorization. Processing varies by consulate but is handled through Brazil's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
This visa is ideal for diplomats, heads of state, government officials, and representatives of international organizations assigned to official missions in Brazil.
Must be a foreign authority or official traveling on an official mission.
Must represent a foreign State recognized by the Brazilian Government.
Dependents of such officials are also qualifying.
Must hold a diplomatic passport.
Diplomatic Note (Note Verbale) from the sending government/institution.
Valid diplomatic passport with at least 2 blank pages.
Printed and signed RER receipt with a glued passport-style photo.
