Business Visitor (entering under a Temporary Resident Visa / Visitor Visa or Electronic Travel Authorization - eTA).
The Canada Business Visitor category covers foreign nationals entering Canada for short-term international business activities — meetings, conferences, or trade events — without entering the Canadian labour market. Entry is via a Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) for most nationalities, or an eTA for visa-exempt nationals.
Stays are up to 6 months, determined by the border officer. TRV costs CAD 100; eTA costs CAD 7; biometrics add CAD 85 where required. The visa is renewable and dual intent is permitted, though no PR pathway exists. Applicants must maintain their primary income source outside Canada.
This visa is ideal for executives, managers, and professionals making short-term business trips to Canada who will not perform hands-on work or draw a Canadian-source income.
