Visa for students undertaking internships related to their academic program at German universities or organizations.
The Study-Related Internship Visa allows international students to complete a curriculum-linked internship at a German organization for up to six months. It is issued under Section 16e of the German Residence Act and targets students currently enrolled abroad or who graduated within the last two years.
The internship must directly correspond to the applicant's field of study, and the host organization must commit in writing to cover living and return-travel costs. Work outside the approved internship is not permitted. The visa costs EUR 75, is not renewable, and does not lead to permanent residence.
This visa is ideal for university students or recent graduates seeking hands-on German work experience tied directly to their academic program.
