Transfer within a multinational company to an EU establishment. Managers, specialists, or trainee employees.
The France ICT permit, under EU Directive 2014/66/EU, lets multinationals temporarily post managers, specialists, or graduate trainees to a French group entity. No labor market test applies — qualification requires intra-group structure, 3–6 months prior seniority, and a salary meeting French legal minimums.
The ICT visa costs EUR 99 plus EUR 350 for the residence permit (May 2026 rates). Managers may stay up to 3 years; trainees up to 1 year. The permit cannot be renewed beyond the mission cap. Spouses receive an accompanying family permit with unrestricted work rights. No PR pathway exists.
This visa is ideal for non-EU professionals already employed by a multinational who are being seconded to a French subsidiary for a defined assignment, with no intent to settle permanently.
