Launched by Namibia in October 2022, the Digital Nomad Visa lets remote professionals live in the country for up to six months while earning income from foreign employers or clients. Applicants need at least USD 2,000 monthly income (USD 1,000 for a spouse, USD 500 per child), valid travel insurance, and a motivation letter from the Namibia Investment Promotion and Development Board (NIPDB).
The visa is non-renewable: holders must wait 12 months after expiry before reapplying, and it cannot be converted onshore. Foreign income earned during the stay is generally not taxed locally. Applications are lodged with MHAISS using form 3-1/0033 plus medical, radiological, police-clearance and qualification documents.
This visa is ideal for remote employees, freelancers and entrepreneurs serving foreign clients who want a fixed six-month base in Namibia with the option to bring family.

PUBLISHED REQUIREMENTS
Employed by a non-Namibian company, self-employed, or freelancing for clients outside Namibia.
Minimum income of USD 2,000 per month for the primary applicant, sourced from outside Namibia.
Additional USD 1,000 per month for an accompanying spouse.
Additional USD 500 per month per accompanying child.
Valid passport with at least six months remaining validity.
Valid medical or comprehensive travel insurance covering the full stay in Namibia.
Motivation letter issued by the Namibia Investment Promotion and Development Board (NIPDB).
Police clearance certificate from country of origin (notarised, English translation).

Request motivation letter from NIPDB
submit your CV, proof of income and intended stay to NIPDB so they can issue a motivation letter directly to MHAISS.
Complete Digital Nomad Visa application form 3-1/0033 (separate forms for spouse and each child).
Obtain a medical certificate (3-1/0003) and radiological report (3-1/0004) from an authorised practitioner.
Obtain a police clearance from your country of origin (notarised, with English translation if required).
Prepare supporting documents
certified passport copy, 6-month bank statement, payslip/employment contract, medical/travel insurance, educational certificates and (for dependants) marriage and birth certificates.
Lodge the application with MHAISS together with the NIPDB motivation letter.
Pay the NAD 3,300 fee upon approval and collect the 6-month visa.
