Residence Permit for Spiritual Ministers

The Netherlands Residence Permit for Spiritual Ministers is for religious and ideological workers — ministers, monks, missionaries, nuns, and educators — employed by a recognized organization. As a GVVA single permit, it requires the employer to show financial solvency and pay at least the statutory minimum wage.

Valid for up to 3 years and renewable, the permit can lead to permanent residency after 5 years. Spouses and children under 18 may join; spouses have restricted work rights. Most applicants must pass the Civic Integration Exam Abroad before entry; monks and non-public roles are exempt.
