Application fees are 4,000 NOK (adults) and 2,000 NOK (children under 18). Processing takes 24–25 months depending on category (work: 24 months; others: 25 months). Spouses may work and dependents can be included. Unlike temporary permits, holders may change employers, pursue self-employment, or exit the workforce without losing status.
