T-6 — Adult or Minor Child of a Derivative Family Member

The T-6 is a US humanitarian visa for adult or minor children of derivative T-visa holders (T-2 through T-5) who are themselves family members of a T-1 human trafficking victim. It is filed by the T-1 principal using Form I-914, Supplement A, and carries no filing fee.

Status is granted for 4 years and can be extended in limited circumstances via Form I-539. Work authorization requires a separate I-765 filing. After 3 years of continuous presence, holders may adjust to permanent residence alongside the T-1 principal.

This visa is ideal for children of T-2 through T-5 derivative holders who face retaliation risk due to the principal's escape from trafficking or cooperation with law enforcement.
