An offshore permanent visa for people whose only close family members live in Australia.
The Remaining Relative visa (subclass 115) is an Australian permanent visa for people whose only close family members live in Australia. Applicants must be outside Australia at time of application and grant, and must be sponsored by a qualifying Australian citizen, permanent resident, or New Zealand citizen.
The visa grants permanent residence with full work and study rights, and dependants can be included. It is subject to annual capping and queuing — current processing estimates run to approximately 22 years. Applications queue by lodgement date; as of early 2026, queue dates up to mid-2013 were being released.
This visa is ideal for people with no close relatives outside Australia who want to permanently reunite with family and are prepared for a very long wait.
