Requirements

PUBLISHED REQUIREMENTS

Must be sponsored by a qualifying child who is an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or qualifying New Zealand citizen settled in Australia

Must be old enough to qualify for the Australian Age Pension (currently 67 years or older)

Must meet the Balance of Family test (at least half of your children must be permanently resident in Australia, or more of your children must live in Australia than in any other single country)

Must be in Australia at the time of application

Must meet standard health and character requirements

Must not have already applied for or hold a Sponsored Parent (Temporary) (Subclass 870) visa

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

Valid passport

Completed Form 40 (Sponsorship for migration to Australia)

Completed Form 47PA (Application for a parent to migrate to Australia)

Proof of relationship (birth certificates of all children)

Evidence of sponsor's citizenship or permanent residence in Australia

Evidence of meeting the Balance of Family test (e.g. proof of residence of all children)

Police clearance certificates for all countries lived in for 12+ months since turning 16
