The Post-Research Job Seeker Permit lets researchers who completed research or a doctoral degree in Finland seek employment or start a business. It requires a master's degree minimum, completion of research or doctoral studies in Finland, and €800/month in financial resources. Applicants must apply within five years of their previous research permit's expiration.

The permit grants up to 2 years and can be taken in up to 3 parts within a 3-year window. First permits cost €750 (online); extended permits cost €230. Processing takes 1–3 months. Work is permitted without a job offer, and spouses have unrestricted work rights.
