S-3 — Student Visa

The Indian Student Visa is issued to foreign nationals who have been granted admission to a full-time academic program at a recognized Indian university, college, or educational institution. This visa is designed to facilitate international students seeking to pursue higher education, research, or specialized academic courses in India. By requiring proof of admission and financial stability, the visa ensures that international students are adequately prepared for their academic journey and can support themselves throughout their stay, promoting India as a destination for quality education and academic collaboration.

To obtain a student visa, applicants must submit an original admission letter from a recognized Indian institution, along with evidence of sufficient financial resources to cover tuition fees and living expenses for the duration of their studies. The visa is granted for the duration of the academic course, provided it does not exceed five years. Upon arrival, students intending to stay for more than 180 days are generally required to register with the Foreigners Regional Registration Officer (FRRO) or the Foreigners Registration Officer (FRO) within 14 days.
