Tourist e-Visa (Visa Touristique)

The Mauritania Tourist e-Visa is an electronic travel authorization designed for international visitors intending to enter the country for leisure, sightseeing, or visiting friends and family. Since the transition to a fully digitized system in early 2025, this visa has replaced the previous visa-on-arrival and embassy-issued sticker visa processes. It is intended for short-term stays and allows travelers to secure their entry permission online before boarding their flight, ensuring a more streamlined experience upon arrival at Mauritanian border control points, such as the Nouakchott–Oumtounsy International Airport.

This visa is specifically for individuals whose primary purpose of travel is non-professional. Applicants must provide proof of their travel arrangements, including accommodation and return transport, to demonstrate their intent to depart the country after their visit. The process requires the submission of personal details and digital documentation through the official National Agency for the Population Register and Secure Titles (ANRPTS) portal. Once approved, travelers must print their e-visa confirmation to present to immigration authorities, where they will also undergo biometric data capture and pay the required visa fees in cash.
