Visitors' Visa

The Visitors' Visa is a standard entry permit governed by the Immigration Control Act of 1993, which provides the legal framework for managing foreign nationals entering Namibia. It was established to regulate short-term stays, ensuring that visitors comply with national security and immigration policies while facilitating tourism, business exploration, and social visits. This visa fills the gap between visa-free travel and long-term residency, allowing the government to monitor the movement of non-exempt foreign nationals and maintain oversight of those entering the country for temporary, non-employment purposes.

This visa is intended for foreign nationals from countries not covered by visa-exemption agreements who wish to enter Namibia for tourism, vacations, visiting friends or relatives, attending meetings, or exploring business opportunities. It is strictly for non-employment purposes, meaning holders cannot engage in local work. The ideal applicant is a traveler who has secured their travel itinerary and possesses a valid passport with at least three blank pages. It is distinctive because it serves as a foundational tool for managing controlled access to the country's borders while supporting the tourism and business sectors.
