Overview

This permit is for individuals participating in a recognized cultural exchange program or voluntary work via the European Solidarity Corps.

The Netherlands Residence Permit for Cultural Exchange lets young people aged 18-30 participate in IND-recognized exchange programs or European Solidarity Corps volunteer work. The sponsor organization manages the application and submits it on your behalf — no direct IND filing required.

The permit is valid for up to 1 year and is non-renewable, with no pathway to permanent residency. Only authorized volunteer work is permitted; no general employment or work permit (TWV) is needed. The application fee is €423, and decisions typically come within 2 weeks (up to 90 days maximum).

This visa is ideal for young adults aged 18-30 who want a structured, sponsor-managed cultural immersion in the Netherlands through a recognized exchange or European Solidarity Corps program.
