MVV — Student Visa (Type D)

The Netherlands Student Visa (Type D) is an MVV entry visa combined with a residence permit for non-EU/EEA nationals studying full-time at a Dutch university or HBO institution for more than 90 days. The recognized institution acts as sponsor and submits the application on the student's behalf.

The permit covers the full duration of the program (fee: EUR 254; processing up to 60 days). Students may work up to 16 hours per week, full-time in June–August, and must show EUR 13,569 in annual funds. On graduation, the permit converts to an orientation year, opening paths to the HSM or EU Blue Card.

This visa is ideal for non-EU students accepted into a Dutch university or HBO program who want to study in the Netherlands with options to transition into the Dutch labor market after graduation.
