Dependant Visa

The Dependant Visa is a family reunification mechanism established under the Nauru Immigration Act 2014 and the Immigration Regulations 2014. It fills the gap for supporting the family units of foreign nationals who have already been granted legal status in Nauru, such as those on business, employment, or residence visas. By allowing primary visa holders to bring their immediate family members, this visa category ensures that Nauru’s immigration framework supports the stability and well-being of foreign workers and residents, aligning with standard international practices for family accompaniment.

This visa is for the spouses, children under 18, and other fully dependent family members of a primary Nauru visa holder. It is distinctive because its validity is strictly tied to the principal visa holder's status; if the primary visa expires or is cancelled, the Dependant Visa is similarly affected. The ideal applicant is a family member who is financially, physically, or psychologically dependent on the principal holder. Applicants must provide proof of their relationship and dependency, ensuring that the visa is used exclusively for its intended purpose of maintaining family integrity during the duration of the principal's authorized stay.
