IEC-Coop — International Experience Canada - International Co-op (Exchange/Temporary)

The IEC International Co-op is a Canadian employer-specific work permit for post-secondary students from partner countries to complete a formal internship directly related to their field of study. It requires a signed internship agreement and a job offer from a Canadian employer.

Participants can stay up to 12 months (some bilateral agreements allow 24), with no renewal option. Fees total CAD $414.75: a $184.75 IEC fee paid by the applicant plus a $230 employer compliance fee paid by the employer. Applicants must also prove at least CAD $2,500 in savings.

This visa is ideal for enrolled post-secondary students from IEC partner countries who have a confirmed Canadian internship aligned to their field of study and want hands-on Canadian work experience.
