Overview

Youth mobility program allowing young adults (18-35) from qualifying countries to work and travel in Canada. Open work permit valid up to 2 years depending on country agreements.

The IEC Working Holiday is Canada's open work permit program for young adults aged 18–35 from over 35 partner countries. It requires no job offer and lets holders work for almost any employer anywhere in Canada for up to two years, depending on the bilateral agreement with the applicant's home country.

Applicants must show at least CAD 2,500 in savings and maintain health insurance for the full stay. The permit is not renewable and has no direct PR pathway, though IEC experience can support later Express Entry or CEC applications. Processing takes up to 56 days. Spouses may separately apply for an open work permit.

This visa is ideal for citizens aged 18–35 from IEC partner countries who want to work flexibly across Canada without a pre-arranged job offer.
