Temporary Permission to Stay for Victims of Human Trafficking or Slavery

The UK Temporary Permission to Stay (VTS) is a humanitarian route for confirmed victims of modern slavery or human trafficking. Granted automatically after a positive Conclusive Grounds decision through the National Referral Mechanism, it carries no fee and covers recovery, law enforcement cooperation, or compensation.

VTS runs up to 30 months (recovery or cooperation) or 12 months (compensation), renewable via FLR(HRO). Holders have full work rights, no IHS liability, and dependent children under 18 may receive leave in line. The route does not lead to settlement.

This visa is ideal for confirmed trafficking or slavery victims in the UK who need lawful status to recover, cooperate with police, or pursue civil compensation.
